Thu 8/27-Sat 8/29 @ 8PM
Once again, Cleveland Public Theatre is keeping its pump greased by presenting works in progress to a virtual, but real audience, as part of its Encounters (Here and Now) Series
This week it’ll be offering a 45-minue excerpt from …Or Does it Explode? By John Dayo-Aliya, a Kent State graduate who is artistic director of Akron-based Ma’Sue Productions. The piece incorporates dance, poetry and more to look at what it means to be young, black and male at this moment in history. Performers include Austin Sasser, Benjamin Black, De Andre Hairston-Karim, & Dar’Jon Bentley.
The live Zoom reading won’t be available as a recorded video, and the “house” is limited to 60 viewers, so you’ll want to sign up without delay. Tickets are a suggested donation of $1 and up. Once you sign up, you’ll get an email 1-2 hours before show time with log-in information.
