For their upcoming concert “I Love a Piano,” the Cleveland POPS Orchestra is bringing in a special guest who will be making his northeast Ohio debut.

Pianist Tony DeSare has become popular in New York for his jazz/pop stylings which, in the manner of Harry Connick Jr. or Michael Feinstein, draw from the Great American Songbook repertoire and era, while adding original tunes that evoke that same vibe in his sophisticated vocals and deft piano.

He’ll join conductor Carl Topilow and the orchestra for this concert at that big nightclub in University Circle Severance Hall, where they’ll perform tunes by Elton John, John Lennon, Ray Charles, Bill Joel, Irving Berlin, and George & Ira Gershwin. Tickets are $21-$95.
