Thu 3/31 @ 7:30PM
Story Club Cleveland is back at CLE Urban Winery in Cleveland Heights, and this time, the theme for the stories is “The Big Dance.” It’s a broad topic that gives storytellers a lot of room to reach deep into their own experience and draw out — anything. A high school dance (such as the one pictured above from the 1985 movie Back to the Future) where something magical (or embarrassing) happened, that ballet recital where you did something you wished you hadn’t, the first dance at your wedding where something unexpected happened.
As usual, the evening features a couple of “pro” storytellers (this month, writer, Carey Callahan and February show open-mic participant Sarah Hammer) followed by stories from anyone who signs up to tell an eight-minute/1300 word story. If more than three people sign up, names will be drawn. Sign-up is at 7pm; show starts at 7:30. Story Club Cleveland founder Dana Norris hosts. Admission is $10. You can get advance tickets here.
