Tue 3/14 @ 7PM

It’s too easy to forget about calamities when the happen on the other side of the world. For weeks we were bombarded with photos of the destruction in Turkey and Syria following the earthquake that killed more than 50,000 people, and for them, the catastrophe hasn’t gone away and won’t for a long time.

Some of the musicians of the Cleveland Orchestra haven’t forgotten and they’re getting together to do something about it. They’ve commandeered Severance Music Center’s Reinberger Chamber Hall on a sleepy Tuesday night where they’ll play a program of works by Western classical composers along with music from Syria and Turkey. They’re promising “special guests” as well, undoubtedly other members of Northeast Ohio’s extensive classical music community.
