The Lantern Theatre company, which performs at the Big Red Barn in Valley View, is known for its seasonally themed staged-reading performances of various classics and historical events.

So it’s back with its annual “cold, creepy” reading of Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, with its famous “headless horseman,” who terrorizes a schoolmaster and causes him to flee a small New York town.

Visitors to the 1905 barn will not only get to enjoy the reading of the spooky but not really scary short story, published in 1820, but also cider, cocoas and baked goods, songs and poems. It’s all very family-friendly. Admission is $12 kids 12 and under are $8.Call 216-401-5131 or go here to make a reservation.
