Sat 9/12 @ 7PM
Cleveland Public Theatre’s annual Pandemonium gala fundraiser is one of the most expansive and creative benefits staged by any area group. Normally taking place across multiple spaces on the CPT campus, it draws on a wide range of creative talents, offering visitors a multi-media arts experience. Guests wander around the space, stumbling on a variety of performances and art installations.
While the in-person Pandemonium isn’t happening this year due to something else that starts with “pandem,” the gala is going on in virtual space. Awakenings: A Virtual Gala is a two-part event starting at 7pm, with an adults-only after party at 8:15 on Zoom. The one-hour special was a collaboration with the Cleveland Film Company and WKYC Chanel 3, and will be presented by WKYC Channel 3 on their website.
Awakenings is a celebration of performers and arts leaders from across the area who spent weeks rehearsing and filming their contributions (paying attention to health and safety rules!) In addition to newly created and filmed performances, it will also feature archival footage from past CPT events and productions. CPT’s CORE Ensemble, Twelve Literary Arts, Djapo Cultural Arts Institute, Inlet Dance Theatre and Robin VanLear (creator of Parade the Circle) and her Arts Acts Ltd. are among the participating groups. You’ll also get to revisit such CPT performances as Panther Women: An Army for the Liberation, The Absolutely Amazing and True Adventures of Ms. Joan Southgate, Everything is Okay (and other helpful lies) and Breakout Session (or Frogorse). And much more!
Tickets are a suggested donation of $1-$179, with one ticket per email address. Go here to purchase.
