One of the most fun New Year’s Eve parties — assuming no one gets sick and it isn’t cancelled — is likely to be at Jilly’s Music Room in Akron.
The soundtrack will be provided by Akron’s own Mo’Mojo, the self-dubbed “party-gras” band whose sound is underpinned by high-energy Louisiana zydeco, blended with rock & roll, funk, R&B, Latin music, reggae and more. Fronted by accordion player/vocalist Jen Maurer, the six-piece ensemble brings instruments such as sax, trumpet and rubboard to join the traditional rock & roll guitar/bass/drums.
The club is offering a special and very extensive New Year’s Eve menu as well featuring noshes ranging from chicken satay to caprese salad to bruschetta to mahi mahi skewers, as well as an extensive selection of desserts.
Admission is $65, which includes reserved seating, a $30 food and beverage credit, party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. Make your reservation here.
