Anne E. DeChant Is Back for an Evening at Akron’s Rialto Theatre

Fri 9/16 @ 7PM

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Anne E. DeChant left her native Northeast Ohio for Nashville in 2008, but in a sense, she’s never really left. She’s kept a loyal fan base through extended return visits several times a year.

The Avon Lake native was part of the popular Cleveland folk-rock group Odd Girl Out in the early-mid ’90s, before leaving in 1996 to launch her solo career with the album Effort of the Spin. Later she moved to Nashville to take advantage of the resources for songwriters there. She’s released a series of folk/pop-oriented albums of increasingly higher quality including 2019’s Lost in Kentucky and 2020’s Every Little Thing.

She was in town over the summer for her annual appearance at the Akron Art Museum’s outdoor Downtown@Dusk series. But if you missed her, she’ll be back at Akron’s intimate Rialto Theatre, an ideal venue for her very personal and thoughtful type of music.
