Wed 10/12-Tue 11/8

It’s that time! Voting is now open in Ohio.

Perhaps you already sent back your application for a mail-in ballot. There’s still plenty of time to do that, but don’t delay. Contact your county board of elections.

There are some advantages to voting this way. You can sit at your desk or table and mull over your choices such as those pesky judges you don’t know much about. You can log on to your computer to find out who they are or what those candidates running for state school board are about. Yeah, I’ll bet you didn’t know we’re voting on candidates for state school board — arguably one of the most important races on the ballot. In addition, once you’ve returned your ballot, the flow of mailers and phone calls from campaigns will mostly stop.

You can also go down to your county board of elections or designated early voting location and vote live, in-person. That’s super fun too.

You can vote from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday starting Wed 10/12 and going through Fri 10/21. The week of Mon 10/24-Fri 11/28 hours are 8am-6pm. And the week of Mon 10/31-Fri 11/4 hours are 8am-7pm.

On Sat 10/29 and Sat 11/5 you can vote from 8am-4pm. On Sun 11/29 and Sun 11/6 (Souls to the Polls! Republicans tried to shut down Sunday voting because black churches like to bus their parishioners to vote after services), voting hours are 1-5pm. The final day of early voting is Mon 11/7, the day before Election Day when you can vote from 8am-2pm.

On Election Day your polling place is open from 6:30am-7:30pm. Check your BoE site to make sure you know where you location is. Here’s our contact list of northeast Ohio boards of election in ten counties.

And just vote!
