There aren’t too many people who follow the local music scene who don’t know Brent Kirby. In addition to making some memorable roots rock-style music with the Jack Fords, as a solo act and with his own bands, he’s been a mover and shaker, participating in educational programs, playing in other projects such as Gram Parsons tribute New Soft Shoe and holiday band the Ohio City Singers, hosting his 10 x 3 songwriter series and offering songwriter workshops. With his latest line-up, Brent Kirby & His Luck, he released the outstanding album Patience Worth last year.
Brent Kirby & His Luck will be playing for the first time at the Riverdog Barn in Lorain County; Lorain County folk artist Sur Lawrence Trupo opens. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. While the Grubup food truck will be onsite, you are free to bring your own cooler or picnic basket, including libations. There will be tables inside the barn and out under a canopy (you can call — 440-965-8309 — and reserve one in advance when you call to reserve parking — highly recommended since it’s limited) and designated dancing areas at the side of the stage.
It’s a $15 donation at the gate; students are $5 and kids under 12 are free.
