Bloom Bakery, a project of Towards Employment, on Public Square is one of a growing number of local food-related businesses that work to create employment opportunities for those who might otherwise be shut out of the workforce.
This week it’s partnering with someone from another such venture, Jeremy Lisa from Green City Growers cooperative. He’ll be the first chef in its Signature Chef series. Each event will feature small-plate foods, wine, beers and punch, with proceeds going to support Bloom’s mission. Lisy will bring in greens and herbs grown in Green City Growers’ hydroponic greenhouse off East 55th to create soups, salads and bread. Guests can vote on items to be added to Bloom’s menu.
Tickets are $75, or buy the whole three-event series for $150.
