Cleveland’s Girl Cologne, a quartet that emerged from the School of Rock, describes its music as “for the disillusioned young person trying to navigate situations that, for many, define young adulthood.” In other words, like 50% of the music coming across our computers, capturing a challenging zeitgeist. They say their music “harnesses the turbulent energy of youth and sweetens it with a dash of 90’s nostalgia to create a sound that is equal parts impassioned and sophisticated,” referring to Mom Jeans, The Regrettes and Peach Pit as influences.
The band includes Jenna Seeman on vocals and keyboard, Cade Cubbison on guitar, Parker Disalvo on drums and Em Kmiecik on bass. And they’ve just released a single called “My Baby,” on Raleigh, North Carolina, indie label, Tragic Hero Records, which specializes in contemporary heavy music. They’ve got a full-length album in the works, slated for release later this year.
Meanwhile, you can check them out this week at the Beachland Tavern where they’ll be playing with Olivia & the Bells, Invasion Invasion and The House of Wills. And celebrating Em’s birthday! Admission is $10.
