Kent Musician Hal Walker Closes Outdoor Concert Series With Tunes for All Ages

Sat 9/18 @ 5PM

This week, the Northeast Ohio Musical Heritage Association concludes its  “Old Music for a New World” summer concert series with a familiar face around northeast Ohio: Kent’s Hal Walker.

The upbeat singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist is also a collector and creator of unusual musical instruments, which he loves to demonstrate and an educator whose appeal spans a wide age range. His tunes are accessible enough for kids to enjoy, while providing thoughtful messages for adults to chew on. His bio describes them as “soul-searching songs that celebrate community, diversity and the creative process.” So bring the whole family to this casual, picnic-friendly outdoor event; tickets are sold in blocks of four.

It takes place on the lawn of First Baptist Church in Cleveland Heights, with doors opening for picnicking at 4pm and music from 4:30-7, opening with Chicago roots/blues musician Eric Noden. No food or drink will be sold but you are invited to bring your picnic basket and cooler, long with your lawn chairs or blanket. Masks are required when not seated with your own group.

Blocks of tickets for four range from $40-$200 depending on the section you want to sit in. Infants are free. Rain date is the Sunday after the original Saturday date

  1. PLEASE NOTE: there has been a change in this Saturday’s concert. Instead of Hal Walker, J Scott Franklin will be opening for Eric Noden. Please visit the website for updated information and to get tickets:
