Study Shows Cleveland Is Most Stressed City in America

Cleveland has landed yet another “honor” it could do without: personal finance website Wallet Hub, which released daily studies on things “The Best Cities to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day” and “Best Cities for an Active Lifestyle,” has released a study on “Most Stressed Cities in America” — and we’re number one!

“In order to determine where Americans cope best with their stress, Wallet Hub compared more than 180 cities across 40 key metrics,” they reveal. “The data set ranges from average weekly work hours to the unemployment rate to divorce and suicide rates.”

Cleveland comes in first in divorce rate, second in percentage of adults with inadequate sleep, second in unemployment rate & third in poverty rate but only 93rd in percentage of residents who are fully vaccinated. We’re number one in financial stress, number two in health & safety stress and family stress, number 18 is work stress with a total score of 64.66, exceeding number two city, Detroit, by more than three points.

The study isn’t good for Ohio overall. Toledo is number 10, Akron is 16, Cincinnati is 21 and Columbus is 47.
