Fri 9/16-Sat 9/17
Are you passionate by the role that art can play in the larger community? Then the two-day Art Future Forum, taking place at Case Western Reserve University is for you. You don’t have to be a scholar, curator, historian or any sort of art expert: the event, sponsored by FRONT International Triennial, Assembly for the Arts and CWRU, is free and open to the public.
Sure, some of it sounds like it might get a little arcane and scholarly and even contain a lot of academic jargon, but some of the discussion about how arts institutions such as museums can better reflect their communities is sure to be stimulating.
The first day, called the Cleveland Symposium, will be led by CWRU grad students and feature papers by grad students from across the country on making art history more inclusive and reclaiming untold stories, reflecting FRONT’s theme. The second day is the Art Futures Forum, looking at new models for change and inclusion, with conversations with northeast Ohio arts leaders.
