As we go into the holidays, there’ll be a lot of activity at 78th Street Studios which normally hosts a big black Friday weekend and the Cleveland Bazaar in early December. But this year, opportunities to visit and shop will be more spread out to avoid crowding — in fact, many of the galleries, studios and businesses are keeping hours during the week starting on Wednesdays. (Check out their weekly schedules to find out who is open when).
This weekend, 78th Street Studios will be hosting Third Friday AND Third Saturday: even less crowding, even more opportunities to shop local. On Third Friday, they’ll again be hosting a virtual event on Facebook from 7-8pm if you want to check out what’s going on without leaving your home, or previewing what’s available when you go later.
There will be vendors on the Ramp Level and in the smARTspace. The nonprofit BARneo will be open on the ramp level and where Carrie King will be playing French street music on accordion. Upstairs in the smARTspace, classical ensemble Opus 216 will be playing. And the Rock Hall’s Joy Van will be playing music in the parking lot to create a really festive atmosphere as you go in.
Third Friday tickets are $5 and you get a voucher good for a $5 discount on purchases from participating businesses and artists. It’s a big sprawling building, but they will be following safety regulations and limiting the number of people allowed in at one time. You must wear a mask!
