Storyteller Looks at Navajo Culture Through Work in CMA Collection

Wed 4/7 @ noon

The Cleveland Museum of Art and Literary Cleveland have paired up for a series of bi-weekly online events, tied into CMA’s current Stories from Storage exhibit, spotlighting rarely or never seen items from the museum’s permanent collection.

In Desktop Dialogue: An Art Anthology, local storytellers will offer their interpretation of objects in the show. On Wednesday April 7, food writer/food historian Sarah Lohman will use artist Lenore Tawney’s postcard Collage Cañon de Chelly as an entry into Navajo culture and landscape, incorporating curator Emily Peters’ study of Tawney’s practice and artist Zefren Anderson’s knowledge of Diné art and history.
