Sat 12/17 & Sun 12/18 @ 2PM
The stage version(s) of A Christmas Carol, originally a 1843 short story by Charles Dickens, is a holiday staple on stages everywhere. But no one does it quite like The Lantern Theatre, a Cleveland ensemble, which puts its distinctive spin on seasonal material.
Instead of acting out one of the scripted versions, the group, including six actors and a piano accompanist, will do a dramatic reading of the original story — and then follow it with an audience sing-along of popular Christmas carols. Not only that but the program features hot chocolate, cider and baked goods. Not too many productions of A Christmas Caroloffer that!
The program takes place in the barn at Dunham Tavern Museum & Gardens. Tickets are $20; get them here.
