The monthly Walk All Over Waterloo are starting to look like old times. While they’ve been going on a scaled-down basis for a few months, more of the street’s galleries and businesses are opening their doors, and a veritable art hub has been created at the corner of E 156th and Waterloo, with new art spaces occupying the upstairs of the formerly empty building on the northwest corner, where Photocentric has its gallery on the street level.
One of those upstairs spaces is William Busta Projects, the latest in a series of art spaces for Busta. The intimate space will be showing Lori Kella: Passion and Promise, featuring the images photographer Kella created for chamber ensemble Les Delices’ 2020-2021 season. (They’ll be auctioned off as part of Les Delices’ virtual benefit).
Across the intersection are two more galleries. At Deep Dive Art Projects you can see the ongoing show by printmaker/collagist Sarah Cabot. And Waterloo Arts is showing TGIF, a collection of drawings and other new works by Mike Meier with gory, fetishistic themes (don’t bring the kids!)
Be sure to walk up the street where the Article Gallery will be hosting its first opening in a year from 6-10pm, showcasing the artists who work in the studios in back. They include new resident artist Don Stuart’s ceramic sculptures, also with work Bob Marrone, Susan Ross, Lou Ross and Diane Pinchot.
