Live Streamed Concert Takes a Look at the Sinatra Songbook

Sun 3/28 @ 7:30PM

Jazz trumpeter Dominick Farinacci, a Cleveland native who’s settled in New York, has been cranking out an astonishing amount of virtual programming since the pandemic began a year ago. He’s reached out to a variety of musician friends, from Cleveland and around the country, to put together a diverse group of events, frequently showcasing rising talents or musicians worthy of wider attention.

The next live streamed concert in his Songbook Watch Party series should have widespread appeal. In Sinatra: A Closer Look, he’ll showcase beloved tunes from the crooner’s songbook. And he’ll feature pianist/vocalist Tony DeSare whose vocals have been described as “romantic, swinging and sensual,” a perfect fit for Sinatra material.

In addition, the program will feature a talk with Juilliard School faculty member and Senior Scholar of Harlem’s National Jazz Museum Loren Schoenberg, who will share information about Sinatra’s life and career and some of his lesser-known work worthy of discovery.

This show will be broadcast from the LiPuma Center for the Creative Arts at Tri-C’s Metro campus, and it’s presented with Tri-C JazzFest.
