Back in 2016, Marco Gutierrez, the co-founder of Latinos for Trump, tried to scare voters into supporting Trump by promising that if something weren’t done to stem the flow of Mexicans into the U.S. “you’re going to have taco trucks on every corner.”
It was probably less effective than he hoped. Taco trucks were being pressed into service to register voters, and many people were demanding that a taco truck be stationed on the corner near their house. Hillary Clinton responded, “I personally think a taco truck on every corner sounds absolutely delicious.”
In fact, many people’s response was that tacos were more welcomed than scary, and so Cleveland Taco Week is back for another go-around, with not just Taco Tuesday but also Taco Monday, Taco Wednesday, Taco Thursday, Taco Friday, Taco Saturday and Taco Sunday. Each participating restaurant will be offering $2 tacos of their own devising, with locations from Willoughby to Rocky River to Broadview Heights. You can find a list of the participating eateries and the tacos they’re offering here.
