Virtually every person reading this has a deeper knowledge of foreign affairs than one of the presidential candidates, even despite the fact that too many Americans have only a superficial understanding of what’s going on in the world outside our borders.

The Global Dialogue Forum, presented by the Cleveland Council on World Affairs, aims to increase that understanding. To that end, it will be hosting a screening of a Canadian (sigh) documentary called Our Man in Tehran, depicting the role played by Canadian ambassador to Tehran Kenneth D. Taylor in resolving the 1979-80 Iran hostage crisis. The event takes place at Gordon Square’s Capitol Theatre, and will feature a presentation and Q&A by Canadian consul general Douglas George following the film.

It’s $10, $5 for students, $8 for CCWA members; registration is required.
