For people dealing with a prior medical condition or illness, these times are especially daunting. Fear of being infected with a disease exacerbated by underlying conditions and increased vigilance to person safety causing loneliness and logistical complications in getting basic needs taken care of make the COVID-19 pandemic a gauntlet course.
The Gathering Place is a northeast Ohio institution that has long provided support services for those dealing with cancer and their families. And that hasn’t changed. It’s just that now their meetings, like everyone else’s, are on Zoom to keep their clients safe.
On Wednesday April 22, Dr. Francoise Adam, director of University Hospitals Connor Integrative Health Network, will share information about “tools to manage stress, build resilience and stay connected.” And on Wed 4/2, Dr. Nick Dreher, chief medical officer of the Population Health MetroHealth Medical Center, will shed light on what it means to “flatten the curve” and how to lie safely once that happens.
