CMNH Program Gets Visitors Prepared for Next Year’s Total Eclipse

Fri 4/7-Sun 4/9

Mark April 8, 2024 on your calendar. That’s when Cleveland will be in the path of a total solar eclipse, when the moon comes between the earth and sun. It’ll happen in the middle of the afternoon, when we’ll have total darkness. It won’t happen again until 2444.

To prepare for this event and start building the anticipation, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History is hosting three days of eclipse-themed shows in its newly upgraded Shafran Planetarium. The show, designed by the museum’s astrology team, is interactive, with astronomers explaining how eclipses work, what it will look like and how you can safely watch it happen.

And the Planetarium show is included in general admission. So you can catch the show and see the otters on the same ticket! Seriously, what more could you ask for?
