No wall is going to keep Mexican food out of the U.S. And there’ll be no keeping it out of the Coit Road Farmers Market this Saturday when the weekly cooking demonstration features tamales and tortillas.
Learn how the base ingredient, raw corn, is transformed into these yummy treats through a process called nixtamil with locally grown organic corn as the featured ingredient. Then participants will help grind the corn, steam tamales and throw some tortillas on the griddle. And then … eat.
The demos (and tasting) are free and open to all.
