The BOP STOP and Cleveland-based New Ghosts, which specializes in presenting avant-garde jazz, again combine forces to present New York-based trumpeter/composer Jaimie Branch, a long-time denizen of the vibrant Chicago jazz scene.
The classically trained musician is known for creating unusual sounds with her instrument and performing not only cutting-edge jazz but also indie rock, electronic music, noise and punk projects, and hip hop. She recently released her debut record Fly or Die, and she’s bringing that music — and more — to the BOP STOP. She’ll perform with an ensemble that also includes cellist Lester St. Louis, bassist Jason Ajemian and drummer Chad Taylor.
