DANCECleveland Program Keeps Tots Active Mentally and Physically

Fri 4/24 @ 1:30-2PM

Got a kid ages 3-6 whose energy is driving you up a wall? Tire them out a bit, and help improve their learning abilities at the same time, with DANCECleveland’s free 30-minute Facebook session “Read to Learn … Dance to Move.”

“Read To Learn…Dance to Move is described as “a curriculum-based program that promotes language, literacy, and movement by engaging students through tactile learning, creative thinking, and imagination.”

In it, Connie Laettner uses the book Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae to lead kids through moves based on the story, followed by a period in which kids experiment with movement, and finally learn a dance that recaps the story. Normally an eight-week program provided to schools by DANCECleveland, this free session gives kids and their parents a taste of what the program contains.
