The 5th Annual Put-in-Bay Music Festival Is a Day of Free Fun on the Island

Sat 9/18 @ noon-7PM

The 5th Annual Put-in-Bay Music Festival was on the calendar in June but it was just too soon after the vaccine rolled out to be planning mass gatherings. That didn’t stop the festival though; they just pushed it back to September, a little post-season extension of summer.

The all-day festival takes place in the parking lot of the Boathouse Bar & Grill. It features Cleveland Irish band Mary’s Lane as headliner, with sets by Island regulars, acoustic trio Flyin Jays; Cleveland blues/roots ensemble AJ & the Woods; the soulful, female-fronted Amelia Airharts; Allie and the Rockers; and Bill Krejci (Guinness Bill) & Dick McCarthy and the Ukulele All-Stars. It concludes with a group finale featuring Friends of the Bay and special guest MC Bob Gatewood, one of Put-in-Bay’s icons.

The family-friendly event also includes informal music workshops, field games and cornhole. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and spend the whole day. There’ll be plenty of food and beverages for sale. Admission is free.
