The Downtown Akron Artwalks start up again for the season this weekend. Two dozen venues in the Akron Historic Arts District (around the Akron Art Museum and Summit Artspace) and nearby Northside neighborhood (both near downtown) are hosting art openings, live music, gallery shows and interactive art. There’s plenty of dining, entertainment and opportunities to buy reasonably priced local art, often directly from the artist. And there’s a trolley that will take art walkers between the neighborhoods and venues.
There’s also a big change coming. In June, the Akron Artwalks move from the first Saturday to the third Thursday of each month.
