Lightwire Theater Brings Its Light-Based Holiday Show Back to the Akron Civic Theatre

Sat 12/21 @ 7PM

There’s almost nothing more magical than light (although of course I’d say that, being a photographer and holding two theater degrees with a specialty in lighting design). If light is your thing too, you might want to check out the Dallas-based Lightwire Theater’s “A Very Electric Christmas,” which is coming to the Akron Civic Theatre for a return engagement.

The show features a variety of moving characters created entirely from lights, which emerge from the darkness, incorporating elements of theater, dance and puppetry to create a holiday narrative of hope and love. It tells the story of a young bird who gets separated from his family as they fly south for the winter, ending up at the North Pole and encountering dancing poinsettias, nutcracker soldiers and caroling worms along the way. Does he meet Santa? Does he get reunited with his family? You’ll have to go see!

Tickets are $20-$35.
