The Akron Art Museum recently had an exhibit called Making Your Mark, which shared not only the work but the process and techniques the artists used to create it.
While that exhibit has closed, the museum has posted a series of videos with northeast Ohio artists, in which members of the museum’s staff chat with them about how and why they do what they do. And each Saturday, they’re featuring one of the artists with clips on their social media.
The full series is available for viewing on YouTube. There you can browse conversations with artists such as printmaker/collage artist Liz Maugans, photographer Amber Ford, printmaker April Bleakney, designer Dinara Mitalipova, and artists in other creative fields such as jazz pianist Theron Brown, poet Philip Metres and playwright/poet/activist Dr. Mary A. Weems.
