Come down to Mac’s Backs, the independent bookstore in Coventry Village, to celebrate the life and work of the revered Chilean poet Pablo Neruda (1904-1973) and the recent publication of Then Come Back: The Lost Neruda, a collection of previously unknown and unpublished work.

“Originally composed on napkins, playbills, receipts, and notebooks, Neruda’s lost poems are full of eros and heartache, complex wordplay and deep wonder,” says the press release.

The Pablo Neruda open mic is a chance for anyone who loves his work to step up and read a few of their favorite Neruda poems. Of course, they will also have an ample selection of his books for you to browse, including Then Come Back. It’s free and open to all.
