Want to hear a couple of great local original bands, outdoors and for free? Head down to the Rock Hall plaza where its Live and Local summer series continues on its Beer Garden Stage.
Lilieae, who call themselves “an angsty, honest alt rock band,” released their first EP in 2019 and have a second in the pipeline. Formed by the duo of Lydia Puccini and bassist Kayleigh Hyland in 2019 specifically to perform their own songs after stints in cover bands, Lilieaea is now a full quintet, playing music inspired by 90s pop/rock bands like No Doubt, Weezer and Pixies.
They’ll be sharing the bill with the punk/hard rock-influenced Public Squares, a somewhat more veteran band (and hardly the first to use that name). The trio features Brandon Abate on drums and vocals, Steve Manko on bass and Bill Kowalcic on guitar. Their latest album From Up There, released at the end of 2019, is a multi-dimensional soundtrack to a nonexistent movie.
