Cleveland Museum of Art Hosts Write-In Inspired by Black Art on View

Sat 3/26 @ noon-4pm

Currents and Constellations: Black Art in Focus at the Cleveland Museum of Art includes nine themed suites of work by African-American artist. You can see five of them in the Pollock Focus Gallery just off the lobby (including the piece above by Cleveland artist Darius Steward) with four more in the permanent collection galleries. They look at ways that Black artists have addressed American history, their own history within it, and their personal roles as artists. The free exhibition is on view through Sunday June 26.

As part of the complementary programming, there’s be a “write-in” hosted by Literary Cleveland in the museum’s atrium. Participants will engage in activities and prompts, as well as viewing of the artwork to inspire their writing. It’s free but tickets are required.
