As Irish bands go, the High Kings are babies, founded in 2008 in a genre where some bands’ roots go back to the ’70s or even the ’60s. But folk quartet, which plays 13 instruments between them, is in high demand for Irish festivals and folk clubs, with their extensive repertoire of popular Irish folk tunes as well as new material. They’re known for their energy, good humor and crowd engagement.
They’ll be performing at the Kent Stage. Tickets are $28.
