Build a Birdhouse to Attract Bluebirds

Sun 2/7 @ 10AM-noon

One of the colorful birds we’ll see returning to the area when it gets warm is the engaging bluebird. And if you’d like to see bluebirds hanging out around you, one thing you can do is build them the type of house they like to nest in.

Got no idea what that is? Summit Metro Parks is here to help. They’ve got free bluebird box kids, courtesy of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, which you can pick up at their Liberty Park Nature Center in Twinsburg on Sunday February 7 from 10am-noon. Then go home and get the family busy putting it together and ready for spring. Each kit includes a link to a video with construction instructions and information on how to attract the bluebird.

You must register in advance to get a kit, and there’s only one per household. Call 330-865-8065 to reserve yours.

Have a friend who would like one but because of covid will not travel two in a car. May I pick up a bird house for her if she registers.
