Get Creative with Cardboard at the Akron Art Museum

Sun 10/3 @ 11AM-3PM

You probably have plenty of cardboard sitting around your house; we all do. But do you see it and start thinking about creative uses for it? (Your cat does, if it comes in the form of a box!)

The Akron Art Museum’s Cardboard Challenge will show visitors how it can substitute for expensive art papers and canvases. Its Family Day this month — open to people of all ages, with kids or not — will focus on the multitude of ways to recycle that cardboards, inspired by the sort film Caine’s Arcade, about a boy who creates an arcade out of cardboard.

Screenings of the film will be showing all day in the museum’s Auditorium. Grab a “fun pass” at the front desk, check out the film and then come to the work area and transform some cardboard into art — perhaps a house for your cat! It’s free and no registration is required.
