The Akron Art Museum’s upcoming family day, dubbed “Old School Summer,” sounds like a lot of fun. It encourages visitors to enjoy activities and sounds from the past that will be nostalgic to parents and grandparents and new and fresh to kids.
Remember roller disco? Remember hula hoops? The event will be filled with games from the past, accompanied by not-so-moldy oldie tunes. And there’ll be an opportunity to create your own artwork to share the sights, sounds, tastes and smells that evoke summer for you.
It takes place outdoors in the Bud and Susie Rogers Garden; admission is free and no registration is required. Rain date is Thursday June 9 @5-8pm.
