Americana singer-songwriter Thor Platter arrived in northeast Ohio from Buffalo, New York about a decade and a half ago. He immediately became an integral part of the area’s music scene, performing as a solo artist as well as with various bands with a similar roots-oriented style.
He’s released a number of albums over the years, including Looking for Sunshine (2013), Long Road Ahead (2015) and Take Time (2017). He’s now updating his discography with a new album under his own name titled As Fast As It Goes. He’s backed by a full band on it.
“With As Fast As It Goes, I wanted to capture the raw energy and spontaneity of my live shows while also pushing myself creatively,” says Platter in the press released for the album, which tells us that his influences on it “[range] from classic country to rock and roll,” and that the album is “a testament to the enduring power of American music.”
He’ll roll out the new album at the Beachland Tavern where Justin Gorski will be opening. Actual CDs will be available at the show!
