Mulberry Creek Herb Farm Opens This Week to Get Your Garden Started

Fri 4/1 @ 10AM-5PM

It’s 27 degrees while I write this, but the signs of spring are everywhere: crocuses and snowdrops pushing up from the ground, even some daffodils opening up (although the ones were saw yesterday were wearing snow hats.) Very soon it will be time to clean up the garden and start planting — in fact, peas, spinach, radishes, kale and collards can go in the ground right now!

Just in time, Mulberry Creek Herb Farm, a family-owned organic farm in Huron, is reopening for the season. Mulberry Creek not only has the largest selection of popular herbs you’ll find anywhere — a dozen or more thyme, mints, rosemarys and basils — it also offers a huge selection of fairy (miniature) plants, as well as succulents, small fruit trees and vegetable starters. You won’t find everything quite yet — we’re still almost two months from tomato-planting weather — but most herbs are glad to go outside now. They also have pottery, compost, soil, seeds and tools, as well as a variety of miniatures for your fairy garden.

On Saturday April 2, they’ll be hosting a Beatrix Potter tea; reservations are required
