Come Chase Monarchs and Insects in the Meadows at Geauga Parks

Sun 9/9 & Sun 9/16 @ 12:30-5PM

September brings lovely weather to be outdoors, hopefully a little cooler than August but before frost sets in. It’s a great time to do a little butterfly and insect watching, which is why this is the time of year whenthe Geauga Park District offers its two afternoons titled “Monarchs and Meadow Insects,” this Sunday at Frohring Meadows and next Sunday at Orchard Hills Park.

There’ll be all kinds of activities designed for visitors to interact with butterflies, grasshoppers, katydids, beetles and other insects. You can net and tag Monarch butterflies (nets will be provided or you can bring one), catch other insects in the meadow, and play a life-sized board game based on Monarch migration.

An overview will be provided at 12:30pm but you can arrive any time. Registration is not required. It’s a good idea to wear long pants, hats, socks and sunscreen.
