Some big sounds will be filling a couple of jazz rooms in northeast Ohio this weekend when Israeli-born, Brooklyn-based drummer Dan Pugach performs with a nine-piece ensemble, featuring fellow Brooklynite Nicole Zuratis on vocals.
His repertoire includes original compositions, as well as his own arrangements of jazz tunes such as Chick Corea’s “Crystal Silence” and pop tunes such as Dolly Parton’s “Jolene”, showcased on his new album Plus One.
He’ll perform at Blu Jazz + in Akron on Friday and Nighttown in Cleveland Heights on Saturday. Tickets for the former show are $15 in advance, $18 at the door; tickets for the latter are $20.
