Rocky River Chamber Music Society Presents All Stravinsky Evening

Mon 5/15 @ 7:30PM

The Rocky River Chamber Music Society, concludes its current season, its 64th, with a program put together by RSCMS board members, trumpet player Amanda Bekeny and Cleveland Orchestra assistant principal clarinetist Daniel McKelway.

They’ve pulled together some friends from their vast network of area professional musicians to perform all evening of “All Stravinsky!” honoring the influential 20th-century Russian composer who earliest fame came from composing music for three ballets for Sergei Diaghilev at the Ballet Russe, including the still widely performed Firebird, Petrushka and The Rite of Spring, the latter remembered for a riot following its first performance. He was constantly experimenting in his composing, opening up new avenues for others to explore in his wake. Considering the vast legacy he left, there’ll be plenty to choose from to make up this concert!

The concert takes place at the West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church. It’s free and open to all. It will also be live streamed on YouTube.
