CityMusic Cleveland moves on with its season dedicated to “celebrating women’s rights to vote and create” with a program featuring two pieces by women who composed at a time when the obstacles against them were much higher than they are now.
Both Swedish composer Elfrida Andrée and German composer Louise Adolpha Le Beau were born in the mid-19thcentury and lived into the 1920s — long enough to see their respective countries grant women full suffrage about the same time the U.S. did. Violinists Minju Kim and Mari Sato, violist Esther Nahm, cellist Anna Bowman and pianist Elizabeth DeMio will play Le Beau’s piano quarter in F minor and Andrée’s Piano Quarter in A major at the Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus.
CityMusic Cleveland concerts are always free but you must register for this one for social distancing purposes. Masks are required.
