Pam Tanowitz Dance Performs with Pianist Simone Dinnerstein

Sat 3/19 @ 7:30PM

DANCECleveland wraps up its season this weekend, with a collaboration between a New York City-based ensemble, Pam Tanowitz Dance, and noted classical pianist Simone Dinnerstein.

Dinnerstein’s career was launched by her self-financed 2007 recording of J.S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations, released on the Cleveland-based Telarc label, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard classical chart.

Pam Tanowitz Dance drew on that same work for New Work for Goldberg Variations, which it debuted in 2017. The work, choreographed by Tanowitz, uses both classical and contemporary dance ideas to reflect the structure and rhythms of Bach’s composition.

When the company performs in Cleveland, Dinnerstein herself will be playing the music they’re dancing to at the Mimi Ohio Theatre.
