Kent’s Numbers Band (aka 15-60-75) has been around 52 years this summer, and still they continue to enthrall area audiences. When they perform a free show at The Venice in Kent this Saturday March 26, they’ll be bringing along something special for both old and new fans.
They’ve got a new remastered version of their 1991 release 15-60-75 20, their only retrospective release covering the years in which they laid out the distinctive sound they’ve continued to build on. It features 11 tracks written by band leader, vocalist and guitarist Robert Kidney, along with a cover of “Not Fade Away.” Musicians include current band members Kidney, his multi-instrumentalist brother Jack and sax player/pianist Terry Hynde, along with many other musicians who contributed over the years (The current band also includes Bill Watson on bass and Clint Alguire on drums.)
“Original ace producer Steve Etherton has gone back and painstakingly remastered the disc track-by-track and it sounds fantastic,” they say. “This is the first time this set has been available in over 15 years and it’s the first time this collection has gotten the 21st century remaster treatment.”
The CDs will be available for purchase at the gig at The Venice (and presumably any subsequent gigs). You can also go online and order it at numbersband.com/shop.
