Once again — for the 12th year — Cleveland’s swing/jump blues/rock & roll band Blue Lunch is hosting its Holiday Latke Party at the Beachland on Christmas night, a festive gathering for those for whom Christmas isn’t a special holiday.
As usual, Blue Lunch brings some special guests to make this a special evening. This year, they’ll have a couple of soul powerhouses named Billy: Florida soul singer Billy Seward and Baltimore’s Billy Price, who’s well-known on the blues festival circuit.
The “Soul Battle of the Billies,” as they’ve dubbed it, will be well served by Blue Lunch’s big, horn-driven sound with DJ Pete London spinning classic blues and soul before and after the live show. The Beachland will be serving its full menu, augmented by latkes — the traditional Jewish potato pancakes.
Doors open at 6:30pm; admission is $15.
