The Cuyahoga County Public Library’s 2022-2023 Writers Center Stage series kicks off this week at the Maltz Performing Arts Center in University Circle with Jamaican author Marlon James.
James draws on his background to create novels that engage Jamaican history through the eyes of multiple narrators. In 2015, he became the first Jamaican author to win the U.K.’s Book Prize for Fiction for his third book A Brief History of Seven Killings, while his second The Book of the Night Woman was a finalist for the 2010 National Nook Critics Circle Award and an NAACP Image Award. His 2019 Black Leopard, Red Wolf initiated his Dark Star Trilogy, which is continued in Moon Witch, Spider King, published in February 2022.
He currently lives and teaches in Minneapolis. Go here for tickets.
