Get Moving at Home with CMA’s February MIX Party

Fri 2/5 @ 8-9PM

The Cleveland Museum of Art’s monthly MIX party is back for its first event of 2021. No, it’s not the big live party in the atrium that people have come to love — sorry, still virtual.

But you can still have a good time at MIX: Move in your own home. Performance artist Marcia Custer will lead a virtual dancing tour through the galleries to “celebrate all bodies, experience levels and identities, and aims to liberate, connect and re-energize everyone in the depths of winter.”

Haley Himiko Hudson Morris will provide the requisite DJ set (she’ll have a Spotify playlist available if you like what you hear) to fuel your moves, and artist Ben Oblivion will offer a feast for the eyes with his green-screen visuals. You can prepare with a virtual tool kit available online with the playlist, a themed cocktail recipe, an online collection tour with artist bios and list of upcoming events which, one day hopefully not too long from now will be in person.

You’re invited to wear something colorful, perhaps inspired by your favorite work of art and share your photos using the #MIXatCMA and #museumfromhome hashtags. Go to cma.org/mix to join the fun.
