Bandoneon player Héctor Del Curto has been active in the jazz, classical, tango and world music scenes for more than 25 years. He’s performed with such stars as Paquito D’River, Regina Carter, Astor Piazzolla and Cleveland-bred international jazz sax star Joe Lovano, as well as with numerous orchestras. He’s played a role in popularizing tango in the U.S., as music director of the show Forever Tango on Broadway, founder/artistic director of the Stowe Tango Music Festival, and leader of the 10-piece Eternal Tango Orchestra, now the Héctor Del Curto Tango Orchestra.
He also performs with smaller ensembles, including a quintet and a trio. It’s the trio he’ll be bringing to Baldwin-Wallace University’s Gamble Auditorium as part of the BW World Music Series. It’s free and open to the public.
